It’s time for MarTech 2019, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This is a big show filled with industry leading speakers, with multiple theaters, three talk tracks, and an expo hall with close to 100 vendors featuring marketing technology tools. Here’s what we are looking forward to most.

Thursday, Jennifer Brett’s talk on marketing metrics titled “Measure What Matters.” Jennifer is LinkedIn’s Head of Americas Insights. For a look at the future, we’re attending Henrietta Akpata of IBM’s talk on "9 Powerful Trends That are Shaping Marketing". In the afternoon, our own Christina Ellwood will demystify the use of machine learning to drive growth. Continuing on the AI topic, the day will wrap up with Brian Kardon, CEO of Fuze, on "How AI is Accelerating Marketing Performance."

The fun continues Friday when John Mestrits of Nordstrom’s data science and analytics team, talks about developing your strategy for marketing data science. And last but not least, we are excited to hear Aaron Wroblewski’s talk on how Zillow is using Contextual Bandits (one of the algorithm types we use at Scaled Inference) to personalize the customer’s experience.

Here's an agenda of the sessions we are attending along with the Scaled Inference team's recommendations for where to eat, where to stay, and how to get where you want to go around downtown San Jose.

By plane:

San Jose is home to one of the Bay Area’s three international airports:

The San Jose International Airport (SJC) is located about 4 miles from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. San Francisco International Airport (SFO), located 35 miles northwest of San Jose off US Route 101 on the peninsula. Oakland International Airport (OAK), which is 40 miles north off I-880 in the East Bay.

By train:

San Jose has three commuter rail lines:

Caltrain runs up the Peninsula to San Francisco. Amtrak California’s Capitol Corridor line runs through the East Bay and then inland to Sacramento and Auburn. Amtrak’s Coast Starlight line runs daily from Seattle, through the Bay Area and down the coast to Los Angeles. The Altamont Commuter Express runs from Stockton, Livermore, and Pleasanton into San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley in the morning and then returns in the late afternoon and evening.

All the above rail lines stop at Diridon Station, San Jose’s central train station. It is located downtown, at 65 Cahill Street, just across West Santa Clara Street from the H.P. Pavilion.

By bus:

Greyhound has a bus station downtown at Almaden Avenue (not Almaden Blvd.) and Post Street.

By car:

San Jose is connected to San Francisco by two major freeways, US-101 and Interstate 280. From Los Angeles, take I-5 North to CA-152 West to US-101 North. From the East Bay, use either I-880 or I-680 South.
